The Indian Society for Pediatric Dermatology (ISPD) was formed in 1996.

The aims of the Society are :

A) To stimulate and promote appropriate medical and scientific research and,to publish the results of such research.

B) To contribute to the education of trainees in dermatology and scientific
workers in the field of Pediatric Dermatology.

C) To arrange and provide for the holding of scientific meetings / symposia.

The 1st National Conference on Pediatric Dermatology was organized in
Nov. 1996.

A full fledged Journal, “Indian Journal of Pediatric Dermatology” (IJPD)
dealing exclusively with issues pertaining to Pediatric Dermatology was
first published in 1998.

BHU Dermatology department became a centre of excellence in northern India under his guidance. He was elected National president of IADVL in 1975/76. His research work in the field of bacteriology of skin was acclaimed internationally . He also contributed large number of research papers in different fields of dermatology, leprosy and venereology in various international and national journals. He was chief editor of IJDVL also. He was conferred FRCP(UK) for his contributions in the field. IADVL UP was formed in 1982 and Prof N K Sharma was the founder president

This movement was started to help Muslims come to terms with changing realities of the world. Aligarh has also been a launch pad for nationalist movements in India, including the famous Khilafat Movement of 1920s.with this, a new breed of Muslim intelligence people were found in Aligarh, who contributed generously to the functioning of the government and its authorities. Unani system of Medicine owes its origin to Greece. It was the Greek philosopher – Physician Hippocrates (460-377 BC) who freed Medicine from the realm of superstition and magic, and gave it the status of Science. The theoretical framework of Unani Medicine is based on the teachings of Hippocrates. After a number of other Greek Scholars enriched the system considerably. Of the Galen (131-210 AD) stands out as the one who stabilized its foundation on which Arab physicians like Rhazes (850-925 AD) and Avicenna (980-1037 AD) constructed an imposing edifice. Unani Medicine got enriched by imbibing what was best in the contemporary systems of traditional medicine in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Persia, India, China and other Middle east and Far east countries.
